The port of Dover is 15 minutes away, as are the cross channel ferry and Sea Cat terminals to Calais, Boulogne and Dunkerque; it is ideal for a stopover en route to Disneyland Paris.

The Lighthouse Inn is only 5 miles from the Channel tunnel and 3 miles from the Port of Dover, ideal for an overnight stay on route to or from France or simply for a relaxing break. A large private car park is available for our guests.

Nearby Dover Castle and the Historic City of Canterbury with its stunning cathedral both make for great days out, time permitting. Breakfast is continental style with a wide variety of cereals, cheeses, yoghurts croissants and fruit. Being a smaller hotel, we have no dedicated reception and guests are asked to book in at the bar where our staff will guide you to your room taking note of any special requirements.

The cottage at The Ship Inn is south facing and located on the seafront, with 2 of the rooms offering outstanding sea views – on a clear day, the views of France are particularly special.

The Ship Inn is in the centre of the village of Sandgate, approximately 1.6 km (one mile) west of Folkestone on the A259. The village has a strong community feel, which you will experience as soon as you walk in. Styled as a nice pub, for nice people, it also has an extensive wine list which would appeal to even the greatest wine buff.
